CATEGORY: Fairs, events BRAND: Theegarten-Pactec

At the interpack 2020, Theegarten-Pactec will be presenting two newly developed packaging solutions in addition to its proven, high-performance packaging machines.

At Stand B51 in Hall 1, the Dresden-based company will present its BLM innovation: the first cartoner from Theegarten-Pactec, which can keep pace with the high speed of the primary packaging machines, as it can secondarily pack up to 2,000 individual products (120 cartons per minute). Another highlight is the new CHS modular high-performance packaging machine for chocolate products. It now packs up to 1,800 products per minute instead of the previous 1,200 and can also be adapted even more flexibly and therefore more efficiently to longer, higher or wider products.

At the interpack 2020, Theegarten-Pactec will be presenting the entirely new BLM development: a cartoner that can keep pace with the high output of the first packaging machines and can second pack up to 2,000 individual products (120 cartons per minute).

Theegarten-Pactec’s range offers tailor-made packaging machines for every type of product, regardless of whether it’s small pieces of confectionery, food or non-food items. As an innovation driver, the Dresden-based company works on the continuous further development of its systems or develops entirely new solutions to meet special requirements.

This also applies to the completely new BLM development, the first cartoner from Theegarten-Pactec. The company – known for its primary packaging of small-sized products – has developed a secondary packaging machine that can keep pace for the first time with the high performance of their primary packaging machines. The new BLM now packs up to 2,000 individual products or 120 cartons per minute and is suitable for small to medium carton sizes.

Finding a suitable cartoner in this high-performance range has been almost impossible in the company’s experience so far. As a result of this limitation, customers were unable to operate their primary packaging machines at full capacity. Unwanted reductions in efficiency were the result. With the cartoner developed by Theegarten-Pactec, which is perfectly adapted to connection to the high-performance machines of the Dresden-based innovation driver, even small products can now be processed with a high output.

At the interpack show, the company will be demonstrating how effectively the machine works using stock cubes. The application at the stand presents the individual production and packaging steps live – from powder feeding (AZO company) to the press (Romaco Kilian company), which forms the well-known tablets from the powder. The tablets are then packaged by the BCW3 primary packaging machine in side fold at a speed of 1,400 pieces per minute, before being secondarily packaged at the same speed by the BLM cartoner in cartons (60 pieces per carton).

As a further highlight, Theegarten-Pactec is presenting a second innovation. The new, modular CHS high-performance packaging machine was specially developed for the packaging of chocolate products and now achieves an output of up to 1,800 instead of the previous 1,200 products per minute.

New modular, high-performance packaging system

As a further highlight, Theegarten-Pactec is exhibiting a second innovation at the interpack 2020. The modular CHS high-performance packaging machine was specially developed for the gentle packaging of chocolate products and now achieves an output of up to 1,800 instead of 1,200 products per minute. At the exhibition stand, Theegarten-Pactec will demonstrate how chocolate pralines with an output of 1,600 products per minute are packaged in the "Protected Twist" (sealed double-twist wrap) folding mode.

The CHS is especially flexible with regard to the possible folding types: Nine different folding types such as double twist, protected twist, top twist, side twist, foil wrap, envelope fold, bottom fold, side fold and Viennese fruit fold are possible without any problems whatsoever. Additionally, the machine allows quick changes of folding type and format within only four hours. These can be carried out by only one employee. The operator is supported by a user guidance system integrated into the machine and a lighting concept that illuminates the relevant areas of the machine.

Thanks to its flexible design, the machine is particularly suitable for different products and folding types that are in seasonal demand. This way, CHS enables high capacity utilization throughout the year, even with increasingly shorter product life cycles, and guarantees a high level of investment security for buyers.

They can react quickly to new market requirements, such as changes in the dimensions of chocolate products, and retrofit them cost-effectively and flexibly for new formats or folding types. With this in mind, Theegarten-Pactec extended the format range of the CHS. While previous product lengths were packed from 16 to 45 mm, the new system offers a spectrum covering 16 to 60 mm. The Dresden-based company has also adjusted the width – previously 12 to 25 mm, now 12 to 35 mm – and is therefore opening up even more application possibilities for its customers. Visitors to the fair can experience for themselves the numerous advantages of the new development.

In addition to the many benefits of the product innovations, visitors to the fair will also be able to see Theegarten-Pactec’s entire advanced product portfolio. High-performance packaging of 1,000 jelly products per minute in flow packs and double twist, or of 800 long chocolate bars per minute in classic envelope fold style will be presented. New developments can also be seen in the area of feeding/system expertise. Among the 13 exhibits, for example, there is a solution for the optical recognition of products within a disordered product flow. The position of the products is detected, the products are then gripped unerringly by a pick & place robot and inserted precisely into the infeed chain of a packaging machine.

Theegarten-Pactec specializes in the design and construction of packaging machines for small pieced confectionery items. The company combines more than 20 different types of packaging with a broad performance spectrum. Apart from individual machines, the company also offers complete packaging lines as a turnkey partner. The following products can be packed or wrapped: hard candies, toffees, chewy sweets, chewing gums, chocolate products, and various other food and non-food products. Theegarten-Pactec has its headquarters in Dresden, Germany. Markus Rustler and Dr. Egbert Röhm manage the medium sized family business in its fourth generation. It has representatives in more than 100 countries around the world. The export share is about 90 per cent.
